Professional Experience:

With over 30 years of executive health administration and consultant experience gained in rapidly changing and dynamic private and public health sectors, Ms. Mikalauskas can claim to have brought successful outcomes to organizations having fulfilled several roles over the years. Most recently working as Director of Patient Safety for primary care clinics across the USA, past roles have included.

Principle Consultant for Joint Commission International with specific Responsibility for the Middle East and Africa as well as Nurse Consultant serving Europe and the Asia Pacific Regions. As a subject matter expert on methodologies in the provision of care, leadership and governance, quality and risk management, culture of safety, organizational management and clinical and administrative operations, Miki facilitated and supported organizations through assessments, education, system redesign and document development to achieve their strategic goals related to quality of care, good governance and accreditation endeavors. 

 As Senior Director for Licensing and Accreditation Ms. Mikalauskas oversaw the quality endeavors for a healthcare system comprised of three hospitals and more than 30 clinics across multiple cities and rural locations. Projects included the standardization of data collection and key performance indicators, appropriate standards of patient record documentation which led to improved coding and revenue capture, policies and procedures, not to mention environment of care standards in line with regulatory requirements, and the achievement of ISO certifications and Joint Commission International accreditation. 
 
In her roles as a Nurse Executive over the years, Ms. Mikalauskas has been responsible for providing clinical and operational oversight for nursing services, midwifery services, as well as Allied Health care teams such as Pharmacy, Laboratory, Health Information Management services, Physiotherapy, Nutritional / Dietician services and Catering providing food services to patients and staff. A champion of Patient Safety Miki has been the administrative lead for Quality departments and has led the organizations she has been a member of as part of  the executive team to initial accreditation and reaccreditation for at least seven times not including specialty accreditations such as the WHO Baby Friendly certifications. Ms Mikalauskas is especially proud to have been a key actor in the initiation and implementation of the first Bachelor of Applied Science in Midwifery in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. 

 Johns Hopkins Medicine International Lead Clinical Expert Consultant –  Assigned as an onsite clinical expert to a Johns Hopkins affiliated facility, Ms Mikalauskas engaged physicians, nursing, clinical and non-clinical teams with executive leadership to actively work jointly at a level of participation that promoted the facilitation of solutions for key clinical and facility management processes directly impacting patient and staff safety and quality of care. Leading the organization to transformational change, the organization was able to achieve reaccreditation.
