Soraia Angiuoli is a healthcare executive with over 15 years of experience and a comprehensive background in hospital administration, international relations, and business development. Soraia speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish and is passionate about expanding access to healthcare globally.
As the Executive Director of the Global Services Division at Children’s National Hospital she leads the development and execution of strategic growth for the hospital’s international portfolio. Soraia focuses on the integration of international processes across the hospital enterprise and collaborates with physician leaders to improve key processes and approaches related to the international strategy.
Soraia has extensive experience identifying best practices for optimal performance and services, improving operational KPI’s, and developing strategic relationships with clients, payers, and referral sources. She was able to deliver her vision to enhance the international patient experience, while incrementally moving toward the organizational priorities and execution of the hospital’s strategic plan.
Prior to joining Children’s National, Soraia spent more than a decade at Johns Hopkins Medicine International as an accomplished healthcare leader, leading efforts to grow the International Patient Program, by increasing access, appealing to new international audiences, and creating positive and substantive partnerships and relationships. Soraia speaks 3 languages and earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration, in addition to a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and business management.

Working with the Executives and staff, Soraia led the development of the international strategy for the expansion of Global Services into new markets in the Americas and Asia, while maintaining the current volume. Penetrated specific markets, incorporating market research, sizing and segmentation, with results that increased revenue by 89% and volume by 25%. Directed international patient experience efforts to maintain high patient satisfaction levels and led the implementation of a new survey, resulting in an increase in qualitative and quantitative responses by 12% and 34% respectively.
Delivering successful financial performance; profit and collections
Managed divisions that generated about US$75 million annually. Lowered A/R rate to 10% from an initial 50% rate. Improved collections efforts by guaranteeing payments within 90 days of billed services. Increased revenue by targeted efforts in business development.
