Dr. Sharon Kleefied, PhD.
Empanelled Consultant and Expert – Quality Improvement & Operational Strategy
Dr. Kleefield was a faculty member of Harvard Medical School (HMS) for 16 years. Serving as the Director of Clinical Quality Services, Sharon designed and implemented both qualitative and quantitative tools and metrics for improving the delivery of care. Leading a staff of physicians ,trainees and statiticians, data were collected and analyzed, and specific projects were focused on the elements that were most highly correlated with high quality care, costs and patient satisfaction. Several peer reviewed papers are often quoted and utilized as references to current health services research.
In addition to her HMS appointment, Sharon served on the faculty of Harvard Business School for 5 years, including teaching and research in business ethics, leadership and management skills. Sharon is familiar with existing accreditation standards across several countries and has served as a consultant to hospitals and health care systems across 15 countries. Sharon has enjoyed many years of teaching and lecturing and watching over time the improvements gained by her coaching and continuous teaching. Included in additional teaching positions, she was a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Nice Medical School, in France for 5 years., research faculty at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in India.
Concurrently, with the support of the Health Minister of Tuscany, Dr. Kleefield provided guidelines and management techniques for systems design, risk management, and comparative global standards of care in Emergency Medicine.
