Professional Experience
Dr. Thomas W. Kozlowski, AssociateDirector of Operations & Department of Standards & Principal Consultant (APAC, Americas, ME) for JCI, joined Joint Commission Resources in 2001 and consulted with both domestic and international healthcare organizations for Accreditation readiness and standards compliance. He brings demonstrated expert experience in international accreditation and standards compliance programs. His consulting expertise is in hospital, ambulatory care, behavioral care, and long-term care settings include operational risk assessment(s), patient safety assessment(s), review of environment care issues, specialist in health care quality, safety and performance improvement. He also comes with executive leadership and governing body retreat for strategic planning, performance improvement training for quality measures, implementation strategies for rapid response teams, electronic health record assessment. Coming to management tools, he is a veteran in incorporating tracer methodology and periodic performance review.
Dr. Kozlowski has consulted internationally in various geographies such as Asia, Europe, Americas and Middle East. In his healthcare experience Dr. Kozlowski has served Joint Commission Resources for over twenty years; Before joining JCI he was Chief Executive Officer for Ambulatory Healthcare Statewide System and Health Strategic Solutions as well. For a multi-state health maintenance organization, Dr. Kozlowski was elected as the Corporate director of Quality Improvement, and Research He had also been appointed as the Interim Director of Accreditation / Regulation and Quality for an academic teaching and acute care hospital. Post academics, Dr. Kozlowski started his career as a Faculty Appointment in Robert Morris College, Chicago and later in National Louis University, Chicago.

Quality and Patient Safety Certificate and Diploma Programs for Hamad Medical Corporation
This project’s objective was to provide a progressive sequence of education opportunities for staff members.
In order to accomplish it following methods were carried out with regards to quality and patient safety:
- Establishment of focus and safety beyond accreditation.
- Create a common language for all discussions.
- Define staff needs as general, intermediate or high.
- Provide a path of opportunity for staff to progress in training and skills from general knowledge.
Ministry of Health – KSA: Hospital Accreditation Preparation Program
- Hospital Accreditation preparation for 10 selected hospitals in KSA
- The MOH determined the sequence of participation for the selected hospitals during the program and expanded the program after the initial 10 hospitals to involve another 20 or more hospitals over consecutive hospitals.

- 3-year package of education and technical assistance services that involved various steps and processes all associated with Quality and Patient Safety (QPS).
