Professional Experience:

Dr. Malik holds a medical degree from Charles University in Prague, a Master’s in Public Health from Boston University, and an MBA with Distinction from the University of Oxford, where she was awarded the prestigious Forte Scholarship for Women. Her distinguished educational background and professional expertise reflects her dedication to advancing healthcare systems and inspiring future leaders.

Currently serving as the Consultant Advisor in Accreditation and Quality at the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Malik has played a pivotal role in implementing Bahrain’s national accreditation program. She has successfully directed the planning, development, implementation, and analysis of Bahrain’s first-ever national healthcare accreditation program for over 300 healthcare facilities. Reporting directly to the CEO and the Supreme Council of Health, she serves as the lead advisor responsible for overseeing healthcare strategy across the country. Her scope of responsibilities includes national health policy, accreditation, revenue development, cost-saving initiatives, and cross-functional team oversight, showcasing her ability to excel in this challenging and vital role. Dr. Malik has been instrumental in formulating impactful healthcare initiatives, that have led to measurable improvements in healthcare delivery across Bahrain. She advises the CEO and the Supreme Council of Health, playing a critical role in the ratification of major health policies. She also oversees internal functions such as data analysis, annual budget forecasting, and reporting to international organizations like the WHO and OECD.

Dr. Malik chairs the NHRA’s Quality Committee, she is Vice Chair of the National Accreditation Committee and is a member of the National Quality Committee at the Supreme Council of Health. She also represents the Kingdom of Bahrain in the GCC Patient Safety Group in Saudi Arabia. She is responsible for executing the NHRA’s Annual Report and various national publications, including healthcare capacity studies. Dr Malik is the recipient of numerous awards including the Crown Prince Medal of Merit from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, (the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain) for her services to the Kingdom during the Covid Pandemic. Under her leadership the national accreditation program as awarded the “Best Government Practice Award” and also the MENAPAR Best Government Service Award in the MENA region.
