Professional Experience
Currently CEO, co-founder and investor in the AI technology company Dynaccurate SARL which creates a cutting-edge combination of Electronic Patient Record, AI data annotation, terminology alignment, blockchain and clinical trials data matching. The vision of the company is to combine all robust automation technologies into a single clinical platform that can be deployed anywhere as a SAAS model. Dermot and his company are often asked to consult on different projects across the health tech sector, for example evaluating or designing new health tech models, or deploying AI and other data technologies such as blockchain to different industry areas.
Dermot has been Chair/Co-Chair Working Groups on Trusted AI and Standards & Interoperability for the Gaia-X in Luxembourg and has advised on various public sector projects as a consultant. He has additionally worked with INTEROpen, which is the NHS sponsored interoperability community, and he writes periodic articles on health data, standards and technology.
Prior to this he worked in various areas of consulting. He has over 20 years of experience across various sectors, principally health tech, business strategy and policy consulting, and an additional 10 years in finance and communications roles. In his time as a consultant, he was responsible for winning over €130 millions of public sector contracts, leading to an estimated €40-50 millions of direct fees for the companies and consortia I have represented, and I have sold a very wide range of services to the public sector, including IT, Communications Services, Policy Services and Personnel Management.
Selected Experience
Dynaccurate: Development of a full-spectrum platform to exploit health data at source by collecting more patient data in clean, structured formats for clinical support, patient recruitment, data federation and clinical trial enablement. Comprises of a full-tech stack of Electronic Patient Record, Machine Learning AI to encode data, Terminology Management Service that can auto-map and express medical terms and medications with any identifiers. Additionally contains a chemotherapy module and a patient consent system/record de-identifier in Blockchain.
Daugavpils Regional Hospital / Open Health Labs Chemotherapy Module creation: Developed a chemotherapy module for Daugavpils Regional Hospital in Latvia as part of the Open Health Labs national call. Produced and deployed the full solution within 6 months, utilising a rules-based approach for the creation of chemotherapy templates. Physicians can upload and edit their own chemotherapy template treatments, then edit them to suit the individual patient by age, BMI, co-morbidities and parallel treatments etc.
NATO NCIA: NATO NCIA is the signals and intelligence organ of NATO military alliance. We provided the alliance with an early version of one of our bespoke AI technologies for managing specific terminologies. This technology is a forerunner of our DyMap technology, which manages clinical terminologies for data harmonisation at scale, as well as other vocabularies in other domains.
Luxembourg Ministry of State Department of Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy (SMC): Dermot provided the SMC with expert consulting on the development of the national 5G network with respect to exploitation of advanced technologies in the area of Big Data, AI, Edge Computing, 5G Media, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, Robotics/Automation and Autonomous Vehicles
